Description

Eleven of the best and brightest musicians from Indiana State University’s School of Music will present the President’s Concert at 3 p.m. on February 4 in Boyce the Recital Hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

This year’s concert spotlights a variety of music by Bach, Brahms, Burleigh, Burritt, Chaminade, Faure, Hindemith, McFarland, Mozart, Porter, Viotti, and York.

The students were selected to participate based on their last semester’s outstanding performances in each area of instrumental study and include:

  • Singer, Trenay Caruthers a sophomore marketing major from St. Louis, MO
  • Singer, Rachel Gibbens a junior music education major from Brazil, IN
  • Percussionist, Hannah Hale, a senior music education from Boonville, IN
  • Tubist, Quentin Hood a junior music business major from Portage, IN
  • Singer, James Jordan a freshman music education major from Evansville, IN
  • Flutist and Pianist, Hannah Kirkwood a sophomore flute performance major from Marshall, IL
  • Singer, Aengus McCullough a freshman vocal performance major from Brazil, IN
  • Guitarist, Sophia Ruiz a junior music business major from Indianapolis, IN
  • Euphoniumist, Lydia Shaffer a senior music liberal arts major from Romney, IN
  • Tubist, Alden Swaby a Junior music education major from Linton, IN
  • Violinist, William Thiele a sophomore cyber criminology and security studies major from Poulsbo, WA
